M.Sc. Economics, management consultant and economist

Martin St-Denis has been a consultant and economist in the social economy sector since 2014. Holder of a master's degree in economics from the École des Sciences de la Gestion, he joined the Coop interface after 10 years of work as a consultant and researcher on issues of social economy, tourism, community sector, culture and employment.

Versatile and rigorous, Martin has been project manager for nearly a hundred studies, as well as guest expert at a multitude of conferences. He can deal with different subjects, whether it is leading workshops on the financing of the social economy or making a presentation on specific economic issues, he knows how to make the subjects both interesting and relevant.

Social commitment being at the heart of his identity, Martin has been valiantly involved with various organizations:

  • Founding member, volunteer and then administrator of UTILE (2013-2019)
  • Member of the board of directors of ACEF du Sud-Ouest de Montréal (2015-2017)
  • Content manager for the youth wing of the social economy workshop (2019-2021)
  • Member of the board of directors of Arprim - Center for testing on printed art (2020-2022)

He is also co-author of a conceptual framework for making statistics in the social economy in Quebec, a project that was supervised by renowned researcher Marie J. Bouchard. In a more militant way, Martin is also one of the 40 economists who signed the open letter questioning the LNG Quebec gas pipeline project and campaigns in the context of both municipal and provincial elections for development models close to his values.

In his spare time, Martin enjoys cycling, angling and good company. Always ready to do activities with friends, you can also meet him in the parks of Montreal and Sherbrooke playing chess or volleyball.
